2017 DESA Expert Group Meeting on the World Economy

Economists from the Global Economic Monitoring Unit of the Development Policy and Analysis Division in the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) are currently in Geneva to attend the DESA Expert Group Meeting on the World Economy.

Every year, economists from DESA meet with counterparties from the five United Nations Regional Commissions, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and Project LINK to discuss the global and regional economic outlook, current macroeconomic trends and policies, as well as major risks and uncertainties in the global economy.

Special topics of discussion also include world commodity markets, macroeconomic modelling and forecasting, and growth and productivity issues in an environment of rapid technological change.  The meeting will be held from 3 to 5 October and is hosted by UNCTAD. You can download the agenda here.
