The CDP Secretariat participated in the High-level Meeting on ‘Achieving Sustainable Graduation for the LDCs’ held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 29-30 November 2017. The meeting was organized jointly by the Office of the High Representative for LDCs, LLDCs and SIDS (OHRLLS) and the Government of Bangladesh to assess the potential impacts of graduation on the graduating countries, make recommendations on necessary preparations to fully adapt to the changing circumstances arising from the reduction of LDC-specific support and accelerate the momentum of graduation to maintain the development trajectory of countries with a view to achieving the SDGs by 2030.

The CDP Secretariat gave a presentation on the 'Transition process and post-graduation strategies' in Session 1 of the meeting and on the 'LDC graduation platform' it is currently developing in Session 2.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to meet with private sector representatives from the Bangladesh knitwear manufacturers and exporters association, as well as the pharmaceutical sector to discuss potential impacts of graduation on these sectors.
