Presentation of the 2018 CDP Report to ECOSOC

Professor Sakiko Fukuda-Parr, Vice-Chair of the Committee for Development Policy (CDP), introduced the Committee’s Report on it’s 20th Session to the ECOSOC Coordination and Management Meeting (CMM) held on 12 June 2018. The CDP’s deliberations on LDC-related issues, including the CDP’s recommendations from the 2018 triennial review of the LDC category, the monitoring of the development progress of graduating and graduated countries, and the need for an incentives package of improved assistance to graduating LDCs were presented to Council members. Professor Sakiko-Parr also briefed the Council on the Committee’s analysis on the voluntary national reviews of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. The Committee’s recommendations on leaving no one behind behind will be presented by the Chair of the CDP, Professor Jose Antonio Ocampo, during the Council’s High Level Segment on 16 July.

CMMs are part of ECOSOC’s coordinating role and are held throughout the year. During the CMMs ECOSOC reviews and approves the latest reports from the Council’s subsidiary and expert bodies.
