CDP Chair at ECOSOC Integration Dialogues

On 3 June, Committee for Development Policy (CDP) Chair Jose Antonio Ocampo participated in the second ECOSOC Integration Dialogue. Prof. Ocampo stressed that the aim of the recovery from the unprecedented and multidimensional crisis resulting from COVID-19 should not be to return to pre-crisis development patterns but to reframe the development paradigm towards equality, resilience and environmental sustainability. To do that and meet the SDGs, countries need to actively promote the development of productive capacities in a way that will ensure flexibility and resilience in a rapidly changing global industrial and technological context, and the multilateral system must be configured to support these endeavors. Productive capacities should be at the core of the new programme of action for LDCs.
