CDP Chair participates at ECOSOC's Integration Segment

On July 6, Professor José Antonio Ocampo, Chair of the Committee for Development Policy (CDP), participated in ECOSOC’s Integration Segment, in the panel on “Leaving no one behind in the context of COVID-19 and the decade of action and delivery". Professor Ocampo stressed that “Governments have an opportunity to set the terms of public, private and third sector interaction, with equitable and green development and the SDGs as central goals and with innovative approaches to policy, regulation and partnerships” and referred to the importance of a multilateralism that responds to the needs of LDCs and other countries in special situations. Professor Ocampo also highlighted the importance, in the response to COVID-19, of the capitalization of multilateral development banks, and recalled the CDP’s consideration of the impacts of COVID-19 on LDCs.
