CDP Panelists at ECOSOC briefing on the Post-2015 Development Agenda

On 4 April 2012 the Chair of the Committee for Development Policy (CDP) Francis Stewart and CDP member Sakiko Fukuda-Parr participated as panelists at a briefing on the “Post 2015 UN Development Framework” convened by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).

They stressed the need for the goals and expectations of the Post-2015 agenda to be universal and emphasized the effect of global challenges such as sustainability and climate change on inequality and youth unemployment. They also highlighted the need for the Post-2015 agenda to be concrete and concise and noted that some of the previous MDGs were “too narrow” and
need to be re-examined.
