Visualizing GDP and Inflation data worldwide: WESP 2017 Mid-year update

The most up-to-date indicators from the World Economic Situation and Prospects as of mid-2017 can now be found in our StatPlanet data visualization tool.

The World Economic Situation and Prospects is the United Nations’ flagship publication on expected trends in the global economy. The report is produced annually by the UN/DESA, UNCTAD, the five UN regional commissions and the UNWTO. StatPlanet allows users to easily browse through data regarding two main economic indicators; annual growth rate of real GDP and annual CPI inflation rate, for 176 UN Member States between 2001 and 2018. The baseline scenario forecasts for 2017 and 2018 are based in part on Project LINK and the UN/DESA World Economic Forecasting Model. Data from 2001 to 2016 is based on information obtained from the Statistics Division of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN/DESA), as well as from other international sources, including the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and national sources.
