UN GA adopts resolution to graduate these three countries from the LDC category
On 7 January Jose Antonio Ocampo, Chair of the Committee for Development Policy, wrote an Op-ED for OECD's Development Matters blog expressing his views on the graduation process of least developed countries (LDCs) and how the 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) in Doha could be affecting the graduation criteria and process in the future.
The Fifth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) concluded its first part today, 17 March 2022, as Member States at the United Nations headquarters in New York adopted the Doha Programme of Action for the Least Developed Countries for the Decade 2022–2031 (DPoA).
An improved version of the online alert system ePing was launched on 13 July, providing a single-entry point for users to submit and track information on product requirement while enhancing coordination among government agencies and the private sector. The platform is a result of collaboration between the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the International Trade Centre (ITC).

On 11 July, EAPD organized a session to share the experiences of five countries (Fiji, Kyrgyz Republic, Palau, Papua New Guinea and Uzbekistan) on public-private-partnership (PPP) with the Government of Vanuatu's Department of Strategic Policy, Planning and Aid Coordination and its Investment Promotion Authority. In addition, EAPD with the Government of Vanuatu's Prime Minister's Office organized two rounds of consultations on Vanuatu's draft Strategic Plan for Implementation of PPP and its draft PPP Policy with the private sector on 12 and 13 July.
Sakiko Fukuda-Parr, Vice-Chair of the Committee of Development Policy (CDP), represented the Committee in the 2023 ECOSOC coordination segment.

On 7 June 2023, Professor Sakiko Fukuda-Parr, Chair of the Committee for Development Policy (CDP), introduced the Committee’s Report on its 25th Session at ECOSOC's 2023 Management Segment. The report is available here in all six UN languages. Responding to the mandate to examine and make recommendations on ECOSOC’s annual theme, it addresses just transition, the external debt crisis and the voluntary national reviews (VNRs).
