Improving knowledge, implementation and effectiveness for smooth transition from the LDC category

On 27 May the Committee for Development Policy (CDP) Secretariat and the Fondation pour les Études et Recherches sur le Développement International (Ferdi) organized a side event on least developed country (LDC) support measures during the Midterm Review Conference for the Istanbul Programme of Action for LDCs in Antalya, Turkey. The focus of this event was to improve affected countries' understanding for a smooth transition from the LDC category.

Demand for information and support for a smooth transition from the LDC category remains high, as LDCs continue to face difficulties in fully understanding the benefits from LDC-specific support they receive and what implication a possible graduation will have. To assist LDCs to better understand their use of LDC specific support the CDP is developing a graduation diagnostics toolkit and will present the pilot version to the participants.
