Introduction of the 2012 CDP report at the High-level Segment of ECOSOC

On 3 July 2012 Professor Frances Stewart, Chair of the Committee for Development Policy (CDP), introduced the Committee's findings on "Promotion of productive capacity and employment" as part of the CDPs report on its 14th session at the High-Level Segment of the 2012 ECOSOC session.

The 2012 High-level segment of ECOSOC was held from 2 to 9 July 2012, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and addressed the Council’s overall annual theme "Promoting productive capacity and decent work to eradicate poverty in the context of inclusive, sustainable and equitable economic growth at all levels for achieving the Millennium Development Goals". It brought together high-level representatives of UN Member States, civil society actors, including non-governmental organizations, academia and the private sector, and the UN system.
