Modelling Tools for Sustainable Development Policies

A workshop on Modelling Tools for Sustainable Development Policies was held at UN Headquarters today featuring the launch of a new web-based platform to strengthen countries’ capacities to formulate their national strategies for sustainable development. “The website is a platform to make the modelling tools used in our capacity development projects widely available,” ASG for Economic Development Lenni Montiel explained.

General Assembly resolution A/RES/70/78 adopted on 9 December 2015, decided to extend the preparatory period before graduation for Vanuatu by three years, until 4 December 2020, due to the unique disruption caused to the economic and social progress of Vanuatu by Cyclone Pam.

Workshop on building capacity in the use of ePing

From 5 to 6 November the Secretariat of the Committee for Development Policy (CDP) conducted a training workshop on the use of the ePing electronic alert system in Geneva, Switzerland. The workshop introduced participants to the ePing system, provided hands-on training, discussed national experinces in the implementation of ePing and identified cooperation opportunities with international partners for its global implementation.
